i need ideas for halloween costumes for my two young children?
Posted in Cat costumes on September 18th, 2010 by admini have 2 children. a daughter who is 3 1/2 and a son who is 2. my mother-in-law (MIL) has a daughter who is 10 months older than mine. her and her mother are constantly buying clothes for them as if they were twins. THEY AREN’T! for halloween, i thought about dressing my daughter up as a mouse and making my son a piece of cheese. when my daughter told my "MIL" my idea for their costumes, she told me that she would dress her daughter up as a cat. even though her daughter was a cat last year for halloween. my kids can even have a halloween to where someone will be dressing the same. so i guess my question is…what ideas do you have that i could dress them up as together….such as a mouse and piece of cheese? or peanut butter and jelly. but i also need ideas of how to put it together.

Cheshire Cat Costume?!?

I’ve thought about just making it from different parts ( stripped skirt, leg warmers, arm sleeves) but I still can’t find anything good. Help?

Right now I’ve gotten into CATS costumes, but I’m a bit stumped on something: how does an obsessed fan with not a lot of money to throw around make a Jennyanydots costume? I just need to know how to make that big fat coat thing; I’m able to make the rest of it with no problems. (I can crochet, knit, and hand sew, if any of those would be useful.)
Sewing with fur, fine, but how do you make it look fat? I’m not fat, so a regular coat would just hang limply and not have the right effect…
I’m the one who wrote those Wikihow pages, ding-dong! (Geez, look at the list of authors every once in a while, I’m right there in the list!) I know about the basics of making a CATS costume; I’m asking how to make the coat thing. (I also already know what it looks like, which is pretty much all the other websites give.)

I tried to find outfits online, but I would rather just make something really quickly or throw stuff on the cat (lol). But ya, if you have any ideas, that would be great.
The cat is well-trained and comfortable wearing clothes, ‘cuz she has other costumes.
