Costumes for cats is a website that allows you to shop for cat outfits and other costumes. Whether you want to dress up your cat for Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas or for St. Valentine’s day, we will give you ideas on how to do that. Or if you want to become a furry feline yourself, we’ll help you do that.
The main part of the website is a blog that answers questions about dressing up your cat or dressing like a cat. It is a great resource to get ideas.
If you have trouble dressing up your cat because he or she is skittish and obstinate, then we think that you might want to listen to the following audiotapes. The tapes will help you train your cat to be more affectionate, docile, and friendly. You will forge a deeper and more meaningful relationship with your cat-mate and hopefully by next Halloween you’ll have no problems putting on a costume on your cat.
How to Dress up your Cat
The first way you can dress up your cat is with simple things – sweaters, hats, etc. If you’ve never dressed up your cat before, we recommend you do this. Cats are not like dogs that take to costumes easily. They need to be trained to wear different outfits. So maybe at first, you should try to put a hat on your cat. And then, when he or she handles that, maybe a sweater.
Usually cat sweaters are made of the finest wools in the land or sometimes from Mylar yarns which will warm your pet up but not make it uncomfortable. Try having your cat wear this for a little it. Make sure that the cat gets acclimated to the sweater before trying something else. It’s very important that you choose the proper size sweater! Too often we see cats that have either a too tight or too lose sweater, and the cat will freak out!
So after you get the cat acclimated to a sweater and or hat, you should begun trying to dress up your cat in seasonal outfits. We are going to list several holidays and make some recommendations on how to dress up your cat.
Halloween
This holiday is all about dressing up. Take your kitty with you when you trick or treat. Your imagination can be unlimited. Any costume that you put on your cat will be appreciated by everyone you meet. Put a cape on your pet and he can be a super feline. Dress him or her up as a pumpkin, or a vampire, or a ghost. Really, anything works well. (We love dressing up our cats as Devils).
And remember to dress up as well. You can go as the comic book heroine – the black cat! Or maybe you could dress up as a ferocious tiger.
Christmas
If you want to take your cat to a Christmas party, you can dress him or her up in a red or green sweater … or just put a collar with some bells on it. Other Chrismas costumes for cats ideas are dressing up your cat as Santa, a reindeer, an elf, or even Santa’s wife.
St. Patrick’s Day
Obviously, this holiday is all about the GREEN! Take your pussycat to the Irish bar or to a St. Paddy’s day parade. Dress him up as a leprechaun or put a green sweater on him. You can even find Boston Celtic Jerseys or shamrock inspired clothes.
St. Valentine’s Day
Cool Valentine’s Day costumes for cats are anything related to love or the colors red and white …. Cupid, angels, sweaters with hearts, etc. Put a little pouch in the front of your cat with candy kisses. And then tell everyone that your cat wants to give them a kiss.
As you can see, there are thousands of reasons to dress up your cat and thousands of costumes that you might like to buy. If you’d like to buy a costume for your pet, click on any of the pictures or click here to get a full listing of pet costumes.
